New to DRA?

Before You Attend

I know it's not easy visiting a new church for the first time. It's sort of like the first day of school or a first date. It's a little awkward. There may be many questions going through your mind. Let me try to answer a few of those questions.

First things first, a few people "dress up," but most people "dress down." Feel free to come however you are most comfortable. Jeans are totally acceptable.  As you walk through the front door you will meet friendly people who will welcome you to DRA.  Just inside you will find our Welcome Center where any questions you have can be answered.  You can also find directions to our nursery and children’s church if you need it.

If you have children and are comfortable with it, they can attend our exciting children’s ministries.  We have a fully staffed, clean nursery for newborns through preschool.  Our children’s church is for kids from K-6th grade.  There they can learn about the Bible in an age appropriate manner in a safe, fun environment.  It’s important for kids to enjoy church!

As you enter the auditorium, there will be someone who will offer you a brochure that tells about what the church is up to.  They can also help you find a comfortable seat.  Sometime during the service you will probably be asked to fill out a yellow “Connection Card.”  This is so we can get to know you better.  You won’t be bombarded with junk mail or strangers at your door.  We’ll send you a letter and perhaps a phone call or email.  But we promise not to hound you.

We begin our service with a few songs, prayer, and some announcements.  Then, I come and share a message from the Bible.  Our messages are practical, creative, biblically sound, and brief.  After the message we normally close with a song or two.  We also value prayer at the end of our services.  Many times we will gather at the front of the auditorium.  Sometimes we will have people at the rear of the auditorium.  We do it differently from time to time.  On the way out, please remember to stop by the Welcome Center and exchange your Connection Card for a free gift.  Just our way of saying, “Thanks for coming!”  You are always welcome at DRA./files/Graphics/Pastors/Pastor Paul Church.jpg
